About the Neighborhood

Monmouth County was long overlooked and underestimated—until the right players stepped onto the scene.

In recent years, the street has quietly transformed into one of the most compelling corridors on the Jersey Shore. Butcher’s Block redefined the local dining experience with one of the most immersive and upscale restaurants the area has seen. Just down the block, Buca Bar is bringing new energy to the avenue, while Nunzio’s Pizzeria continues to serve generations of loyal locals. Members-only Broken English is on the rise, adding a new layer of culture and exclusivity to the neighborhood.

Surrounding the avenue, new residential developments and the impressive Kushner Companies projects signal long-term confidence in the area. With Netflix establishing operations nearby in Fort Monmouth, the presence of Monmouth University, the activity along Brighton Avenue, and the beach just five minutes away, Westwood Avenue is no longer a question mark—it’s a proven destination.

The Building

Located at 199 Westwood Avenue, The Square occupies a historic building tucked just behind the Long Branch Train Station. Over the years, this structure has lived many lives—former distillery, event space, loading dock, manufacturing hub, and office space. It has seen the neighborhood evolve from every angle.

Our team is deeply committed to preserving the bones and character of this timepiece building while thoughtfully adapting it for what the neighborhood needs now. As the area grows, it calls for a new place to gather—a modern common house rooted in history, creativity, and community.

Welcome to The Westwood Square.
